What to Expect:
As your host, Shane kicks the evening off with some of his best material on brainy topics, before introducing special guest speakers and performers. Guests range from Ivy League professors presenting groundbreaking academic research to local stand-up comedians delivering their most cerebral material.
At the end of the night, Shane brings all the guests back onstage and opens the floor for a Q&A and interactive discussion with the audience.

Shane Mauss leads two lives.

Kristen Mark, PhD, is a sex and relationships researcher, educator, and therapist. She is an Associate Professor and Director of the Sexual Health Promotion Lab at University of Kentucky. She is best known for her research in the area of maintaining sexual desire in long term relationships, sexual desire discrepancy in couples, prioritizing sexual pleasure, and the impact these factors have on sexual and relationship satisfaction.
Nathan DeWall is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Kentucky, an author, and a musician. He has earned more than 200 publications and won numerous national and international awards. In 2017, the Institute for Scientific Information list DeWall in the top 1% of the world’s cited scientists in Psychology and Psychiatry. He writes regularly for the New York Times and has appeared on Good Morning America and NPR’s Morning Edition and All Things Considered. With David Myers, he writes the world’s most popular Introduction to Psychology textbook series for college and high schools, reaching millions of readers worldwide. He’s happily married to his wife, Alice, and is a devoted dad to his two kids, Beverly ‘Bevy’ (age 4) and Ellis (age 2). In his spare time, he sings and plays guitar in a rock n’ roll band.
Los Angeles based comedian Dave Waite is a charismatic oddball. He’s been seen on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Comedy Central, and Last Comic Standing.
